Last weekend I bought art and played music! It was amazing. I spent a lot of time talking and thinking about Desert Bus in last week's post, and I've been realizing I want to write more. Weekly Update

Desert Bus

A day late this week because of the G33k Art Show, which was incredible. With the help of my niece, the piano of Tom Nagy, and the KW community, my jars raised $84 and change for children's hospitals. I also bought some great art. Videos to come starting tomorrow. But I'll write about that a bit on Wednesday. This was also the week of Desert Bus for Hope, a charity event that literally changed my life. Weekly Update

G33k Week

This week is Desert Bus! Seriously, I'm watching it basically non stop. Not only is it incredibly entertaining and entirely for charity, but I always learn things while watching the Loading Ready Run crew in their annual fundraiser. All the money goes to Child's Play, which donates toys and videogames to children's hospitals, and is the same charity we support with Headshots from the Heart. Desert Bus was an incredible inspiration and the crew was a great help in getting our first year off the ground, so I always check them out and throw a bit of money their way.…

Weekly Update

In Which I Appear in Videos

More than usual. Sure, twice a week on Youtube, but this week the Ignite Waterloo 13 videos came out, including my talk on the unsung benefits of charity events (which wasn’t my best, but turned out a lot better than I thought). I also make a brief appearance in Mad Art Lab’s Carl Sagan Day video, which is probably the closest I’ll ever come to making a video with famous people.

Other things are also afoot, Headshots from the Heart is getting rolling, music is happening, and I’m putting together a nerd event here in KW!

Weekly Update

Night/Shift

The fact that I have been remiss about these posts is telling not just here but in my real life, where I’ve done less and less interesting things because I relieved myself of having to write about it. Blah blah this will change, we’ll see. Still, slowly working on getting things off the “Meant to do” pile and onto the “Done” one, but we’ll talk about Jim productivity another day. In case you weren’t aware, NIGHT/SHIFT was wicked cool, and I’ll have some video highlights on Tuesday. Between Nerd Nite, game night with the G. I. Janes where I was the worst elder god ever, and a great party, it’s hard to pick a best part of the week, so I won’t. But it was great.
